smoking a hookah and waving at me his bazooka.
He yelled: "come hither, come hither, fret not and come quicker!"
I quickened my pace tripped over a suitcase
had me baffled to how it had got there.
I stood up and stared at the obstacle,
observed what hadn't noticed before:
it was inevitably invisible.
It lost my interest and I turned around,
the toad was nowhere to be found.
What the fuck or fuck the what fuck whatever you want, thanks very much.
One step, two step, three step at a time,
one after the other isn't that sublime?
I do not know what I walk for
but I walk 'til my blood stains the floor.
Step. Step. Step.
Step. Step. Step.
I look at what I thought was the Sun and see the Moon instead,
it tells me "looking for something? Are you? Are you?
Well, go to bed.
You're not gonna find anything if your mind isn't read."
Unwilling to face the truth,
I keep on walking until from my mouth falls out a tooth.
I put it away as the night darkens,
and subsequently realise the trouble I'm in.
Death reveals itself before me
"I seek what thou keep'st with fear,
come near, come near,
bring'st it with thou helpless hopeless tears."
Automatically I plunge me hand in me pocket,
instead of pulling out the tooth I pull out a locket.
"Give me, give me," calls Death,
"you would like not to breathe my breath."
Scared, unprepared, with nothing about which I cared,
I gave in the projection without any sign of objection.
The Sun then arrived, through the clouds it graciously thrived,
then confiscated the locket,
with a swish only as swift.
Death dissolved into the light
and so did the eerie, murdering night.
And with a movement as swift,
as swift as the swish,
the Sun replaces the heart-shaped locket in my palm
and for some odd reason I become calm.
I see the Toad, once more,
beside him a brand new wild boar.
The Toad was sitting in the middle of the road
smoking a hookah and waving at me his bazooka.
He yelled: "come hither, come hither, fret not and come quicker!"
